Soro: A bus which was supposed to ferry migrant workers back to Tamil Nadu from Balasore District, Soro has been halted by the local village Sarpanch. The bus has come all the way from the southern state to pick migrant workers.

According to sources, the bus didn’t have a Covid travel pass and was carrying more than 60 passengers, which is more than the permitted number of passengers, prompting the Sarpanch  to halt the journey. The Sarpanch has also intimidated the authorities about this matter.

It was realised that the bus didn’t have a Covid pass only when it came to Soro to pick up the migrants. Sources claim, the bus also carried 47 migrants from Bihar. The other passengers were picked up by the bus elsewhere.

At present, the bus remains halted by the Sarpanch of the local Panchayat. The authorities will be taking a decision regarding this matter as soon as possible.
