Puri: The Jagannath Temple at Puri (Srimandir) will be setting up two special counters to avail Mahaprasad to Habishyalis and devotees during the month of Kartik.

A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting between the Suar-Mahasuar Nijog and the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Friday.

As per reports, there will be two counters, one each at the North Door (Uttar Dwar) and the South Door (Dakshin Dwar). The North Door counter will be bigger in view of the expected turnout of devotees.

As per reports, the temple administration will take special precautions at the counters to ensure the implementation of social distancing norms and also make sure that the devotees obeyed all COVID-19 guidelines.

Besides, in view of the closure of Srimandir, arrangements have been made to facilitate the darshan of Patitapaban for devotees.

Speaking to OTV the Sub-Collector of Puri, Bhabataran Sahu said, “Devotees generally enter Srimandir through the North Door, and so the bigger Mahaprashad counter has been set up there.”

“Sheds have been put up in front of the counters for the devotees to stand in queue. We have identified a larger parking space to accommodate the vehicles of devotees” added Sahu.
