Six Days After Abduction, Rourkela Bizman Returns Home

Rourkela: Pradeep Kundu, a city-based businessman who was abducted last Saturday, returned home last night. His sudden return six days after abduction has shrouded mystery as it is still unclear whether he managed to come back alone or he was dropped home by someone else.

Some unidentified miscreants had allegedly kidnapped Kundu from Birmitrapur Bijabahala area last Saturday evening.

Kundu’s family members had alleged that he was kidnapped from National Highway 143 while returning home from his crusher unit at Bijabahala area. In a complaint lodged at the Birmitrapur police in this regard, the family had mentioned about receiving a phone call from the abductors demanding ransom.

Later on Sunday, Kundu's car was found parked on the NH-143 near Bijabahala. Some used syringes and a mobile phone was also recovered from the vehicle.

Police immediately seized the vehicle and initiated a probe to trace the businessman and ascertain his whereabouts through his mobile phone location.
