Bhubaneswar: Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over some districts of the interior Odisha, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday.
As per the latest IMD forecast, Coldwave to severe cold wave conditions is likely to prevail over the districts of the interior of Odisha during next three days. The minimum temperature over coastal Odisha during this period likely to be below normal by 3 to 4 degree Celsius.
The IMD has also Orange and Yellow warning for several districts of interior and coastal Odisha.

Day-1 (Valid up to 0830 Hours Of December 21):
Orange Warning: Isolated cold wave to severe cold wave condition very likely prevail over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Bargarh.
Yellow Warning (Be updated) : Isolated cold wave conditions very likely to prevail over the districts of Koraput, Kandhamal, Balasore, Keonjhar, Boudh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Deogarh.
Impact:
1-An increased the likelihood of various illnesses like running/ stuffy nose or nosebleed, which usually set in or get aggravated due to prolonged exposure to cold.
2-Livestock may be affected due to prolonged exposure to cold
Action Suggested- Stay indoor during night
-Do arrangement to keep livestock in shaded/indoor area
-Avoid movement in night especially through two-wheelers/ open cars
-Take safety measures while using electrical and gas heating devices.
