Bhubaneswar: Biting cold conditions prevailed in Odisha with 10 places recording minimum temperature (night temperature) below 10 degree Celsius on Sunday. Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 5.5 degree Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of the country including Odisha will experience severe cold wave conditions for the next couple of days.

IMD's Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar said that severe cold wave conditions likely to prevail over the districts of the interior of Odisha during next three days. The night temperature in coastal Odisha during this period likely to be below normal by 3 to 4 degree Celsius.

As per the latest IMD data, 11 places in Odisha recorded minimum temperatures below 11 degree Celsius on Sunday morning.

Apart from Phulbani, Jharsuguda recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6, followed by Baripada (8.5) while Angul and Koraput recorded 8.6 degree Celsius respectively.

The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 11.6 and 13.9 degrees Celcius, respectively.
