Rourkela: In order to aid the process of waste management, the Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) has started an express service from today.

The special initiative comes as a big relief for the city struggling with years of issues due to improper management of wastes produced by hotels and restaurants.

Speaking in this regard, Dibjyajyoti Parida, Commissioner of RMC said, "We have started this service especially for the bulk waste producers. Two new vehicles from the express service would help to transfer the wastes to the micro-composting centres situated in the city."

"The wastes will be segregated, processed and recycled for further use. This would help in adding to the cleanliness program in Rourkela and would help in eradicating the issue of piling of waste faced earlier in the city, said Parida.
