Bhawanipatna: Resentment is brewing over the alleged substandard materials used in the construction of a road at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a Centrally sponsored scheme.
It is alleged that the black topping on the road could be easily removed with bare hands, the video of which has now gone viral on social media. Sources said that the black topping has been laid over sand instead of stone chips and without proper levelling.
Youth Against Corruption (Jokhipali), an organisation has reportedly shared the video on social media. The outfit alleged that taking advantage of the simplicity of the people of Lanjigarh, such corruption has taken place. Moreover, action should be taken against the contractors and engineers involved in the construction of the road, the outfit tweeted.
