Cuttack: Expressing shock over reappearance of shanties after eviction of a slum near SCB Medical College and Hospital here, the Orissa High Court on Thursday directed the district administration to book those who have reoccupied the area.
Adjudicating over a PIL pertaining to problems afflicting the city, the Division Bench of Justice B P Das and Justice M M Das asked the authorities to prevent fresh encroachments by slum dwellers.
The Bench ordered the police to arrest the illegal occupants.
"Responsibilities would be fixed on officials concerned who cannot prevent re-encroachment," the HC ordered.
