Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered biggest spike of 755 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the State’s total positive tally to 11956.
The State also reported four more deaths due to coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 56. All the four deaths have been reported from Ganjam district, informed the health department.

1. Male of 57 years of Sundargarh district due to Lung Cancer.
2. Male of 70 years of Bhadrak district due to Cancer of the Bladder with metastasis.

Of the total cases detected in the last 24 hours, 508 cases were reported from quarantine centres while remaining 247 cases are local contacts.

Ganjam reports the highest single-day spike of 320 cases.

Ganjam reported highest 320 cases, Jajpur (86), Sundargarh (62), Khurda (59), Cuttack (55), Keonjhar (32) and Gajapati (30).
Similarly, 18 cases were reported from Malkangiri, 16 from Nayagarh, 12 each from Mayurbhanj and Bolangir, 11 from Puri, nine from Balasore, five each from Kendrapada, Koraput and Jagatsinghpur, four each from Deogarh and Dhenkanal, three from Angul, two each from Bhadrak, Sambalpur and Kandhamal and one case from Bargarh.
The active cases in the State now stand at 4476 while 7407 persons have recovered from the disease so far.
