Nayagarh: Raking up a fresh debate over death of five-year-old girl, Pari from Nayagarh, her mother, Soudamini Sahu has alleged that the Inspector In-Charge (IIC) of Sadar Police Station, Rinarani Sahu had misbehaved with her and soft-pedaled the murder investigation at the behest of State Minister Arun Sahoo.

The allegations comes at a time when IPS Arun Bothra led SIT has started investigation into the case after the state government constituted the SIT as a High Court judge as its member.

"When I had already revealed that the IIC of the police station has links with Minister Arun Sahoo and she is deliberately investigating in a different angle to shield Babuli Nayak and the minister, why has she not been arrested or interrogated so far?" questioned Soudamini.

"On the 12th day of our daughter's murder, the IIC picked us up from our house at 10 am for the police station and later dropped us around midnight. Since then, the IIC had many times picked us up and forced us for a false confession," said Soudamini.

"The police treated us like goons and criminals and once they even forced into our house after breaking open our door, manhandling me and my mother too. The IIC along with the SP of Nayagarh should be suspended and strong disciplinary action should be taken against them," she added.

Bringing serious allegations of a nexus between BJD Minister and the criminal, Soudamini said, "I have heard the IIC, Rinarani Sahu speaking with the Minister over phone and taking instructions from him while I was there in the police station for lie detection test. I can tell you that Minister Arun Sahoo is involved in this case."

The Sarpanch of Jadupur, Soumya Ranjan Pradhan also made the same allegations about a nexus between the Minister, Police and the criminals by saying that they are all trying for a massive cover up on the murder case.

"Minister Arun Sahoo had assured me that he has spoken with the Police several times in this regard. If the police did not pay heed to his words and neglected the investigation, why did not the minister wrote to their higher authorities to take action against them? The fact that the police played down the investigation and Babuli is still off the hook proves my point," said Pradhan.

IIC Rinarani Sahoo could not be contacted for comments on the allegations leveled by Pari's mother.
