Bhubaneswar: The Inspector-in-charge of Nayagarh Sadar Police station Rinarani Sahu has been placed under suspension, Odisha Police sources said on Thursday.

Apart from the Inspector In-Charge (IIC) of Sadar Police Station, Nayagarh SDPO Niranjan Padhi has been transferred and posted as DSP to Kandhamal.

Both the officials were under scanner over the murder case of the five-year-old girl Pari from Nayagarh.

The suspension and transfer of the police officials comes a day after the mother of Pari brought serious allegations against the concerned police IIC on Wednesday.

The deceased girl’s mother Soudamini Sahu had alleged that the Inspector In-Charge (IIC) of Sadar Police Station, Rinarani Sahu had misbehaved with her and soft-pedalled the murder investigation at the behest of State Minister Arun Sahoo.

“When I had already revealed that the IIC of the police station has links with Minister Arun Sahoo and she is deliberately investigating in a different angle to shield Babuli Nayak and the minister, why has she not been arrested or interrogated so far?” Soudamini alleged yesterday.

“On the 12th day of our daughter’s murder, the IIC picked us up from our house at 10 am for the police station and later dropped us around midnight. Since then, the IIC had many times picked us up and forced us for a false confession,” Soudamini added.

Bringing serious allegations of a nexus between BJD Minister and the criminal, Soudamini had alleged that, “I have heard the IIC, Rinarani Sahu speaking with the Minister over phone and taking instructions from him while I was there in the police station for lie detection test. I can tell you that Minister Arun Sahoo is involved in this case.”
