Bhubaneswar: In July this year, 5-year-old Pari of Nayagarh district was allegedly kidnapped, murdered and chopped into pieces. Her parents are still shattered as they could see nothing more than her skeletal remains which were dumped by the killers in the backyard of their house in Jadupur village. The couple attempted suicide outside the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday crying that they have no reason to live, but what has disturbed them more is the alleged inaction of police even as four months have passed into the barbaric incident.
The investigation of police has come under scanner as their efforts to nab the perpetrators have not yielded any positive result as yet.
Speaking to OTV today, Pari's father Ashok Sahu alleged that the prime accused in the case - Babuli Nayak has been involved in child abduction and human organs trade in the past.
"Police in Bhubaneswar yesterday took 5-6 signatures of me for some purpose. Later they connected me to Nayagarh SP and while speaking to him over phone, I asked him why police is not arresting the prime accused Babuli Nayak. Why has police failed to take any action against him so far? I questioned. The SP said there is no evidence against him," said Ashok.
"I have urged him to hand over the investigation to Crime Branch and he has also assured me of a Crime Branch probe. Babuli Nayak, the prime accused in my daughter's disappearance and murder, is the kingpin of child lifting racket involved in the trade of human organs," the victim's father said.
"He (Babuli) had only 4-acre land in his name, now he has crores of property due to child trafficking racket and trade of human organs," he has alleged.

Meanwhile, activists of the BJP Mahila Morcha today took out a rally from the party office in Bhubaneswar demanding justice for the 5-year-old. They are also demanding the ouster of State minister Arun Sahoo from the Naveen Cabinet. Minister Sahoo, who has been accused of shielding the persons involved in the abduction and brutal murder of the minor girl in Nayagarh, hasn't responded to the allegations.
