Nayagarh: Amid the massive public outrage over the alleged lackadaisical investigation into the abduction and subsequent murder of ‘Pari’, a delegation of State BJP under the stewardship of Leader of Opposition Pradipta Kumar Naik will meet the family of the victim at Jadupur in the district today.

According to party sources, the delegation will meet the victim’s family members to express their condolences and enquire about the incident.

“The party will fight in every possible way to provide justice to the victim,” said Naik.

Earlier, demanding immediate resignation of minister Arun Sahoo for his alleged complicity in the brutal crime, members from both Congress and BJP had staged demonstrations in different parts of the State.

Nayagarh district unit of the BJP had burnt the effigy of minister Sahoo at Traffic Chhak demanding his resignation. Local leaders of the saffron party alleged that the prime accused of the case is being shielded by the minister, for which police are unable to take action against him. They had also met the district Collector and submitted a memorandum in this regard.

On the other hand, members of the BJP Mahila Morcha took out a rally from party’s state headquarters to Master Canteen in the State Capital demanding immediate arrest of the accused and resignation of the minister.
