Bhubaneswar: Students of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) on Wednesday staged protest on the varsity premises demanding immediate declaration of exam dates.

“The Supreme Court has directed all the varsities across the country to conduct online examinations, but the OUAT authorities are yet taken any decision about our examinations. They are dilly-dallying the exams and yet to issue any notice,” said a student.

The students also complained that the University has been closed since March because of the lockdown in view of Covid-19

“Only the final year examination has been held. Our syllabus has not been finalised yet. If the examinations are not conducted on time, we will not be able to appear in different competitive examinations,” said another student.

“The authorities should declare the examination dates soon or they should give us provisional promotions on the condition that we will appear in an examination in future. We want a quick decision in this regard,” the student added.

Meanwhile, the comments of OUAT authorities could not be obtained on the matter.
