Bhubaneswar: Even as Odisha reported 3,490 new coronavirus cases, its total recoveries crossed the one lakh-mark, the Health Department said on Tuesday.

With the discharge of 2,787 cured patients on Tuesday, the recoveries in Odisha now total 1,02,185. Of the total 1,31,382 cases, 28,575 are active.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik praised thousands of health workers and Covid Warriors.

“In a momentous occasion in our fight against COVID-19, Odisha has crossed one lakh recoveries. Salute to thousands of health workers and Covid Warriors who sacrificed hugely and worked with unflinching dedication to save precious lives,” he tweeted.

The virus has so far claimed 569 lives in the state, the department said.
