Bhubaneswar: In a bid to facilitate traffic management in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police has decided to rope in volunteers for the job.
Around 100 volunteers will operate as special police officers donning T-shirts, caps and a special badge while performing their duties.
The volunteering initiative will be launched from April 17 and two voluntary organizations will provide the volunteers who will be inducted into the Traffic Police force after verification of their character certificates.
They will be provided training on various rules and regulations and, on completion of their training, they will be stationed at 56 intersections in Bhubaneswar.
