Malkangiri: One villager was shot dead by Maoists near Teleraie square yesterday night for his alleged involvement in activities against naxals.
The deceased was identified as Gurumurti Madhi and abducted by the ultras on August 15.
According posters found near the spot, Gurumurti was allegedly inciting Maoists to surrender before police. Therefore, the ultras killed him, the poster mentioned.
A state of fear among of the villagers is prevailing after the incident.
