Dhenkanal: The State police’s Vigilance department today raided the office of Regional Development Organisation (RDO) here in connection with alleged financial irregularities. A five-member team led by the Vigilance DSP conducted the raid on the office.
Sources said around Rs 72 lakh, sanctioned from the funds of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs to carry out development work in the town, was siphoned off. The irregularities occurred during 2009, 2010 and 2011, they added.
Even some staff of the office took advance payments on different grounds but did not pay back. The investigating agency is looking into this aspect also, they further said.
