Koraput: A hardcore Maoist was arrested today by security personnel during anti-naxalite operation in Koraput district, police said.
The maoist identified as Mino Hikoka alias Bikas was the area commander of Srikakulam-Koraput divisional committee of CPI (Maoist) and involved in at least 10 murder and over 20 naxal violences between 2009 and 2014, they said.
On a tip off about his movement, security personnel belonging to BSF and Odisha police conducted combing operation and apprehended the ultra from Muslimunda forests.
No arms were seized from his possesasion, superintendent of police, Koraput, Awinash Kumar said.
According to police, apart from murders Hikoka was directly involved in blocking roads, attacking mobile towers and government buildings to create panic among villagers in the area.
