Berhampur: A man was arrested by forest officers on charges of poaching an Indian bison at Ustapalli forest in Dharakote block of Odisha's Ganjam district, a forest official said today.
While Prakash Mandal of Jodakhala village in the district was caught by forest officials during an operation, four of his accomplices managed to escape, said range officer (Aska) S K Nanda.
A country-made gun, venison, horns and skin of the animal were seized from Mandal when he was arrested on Saturday, he said.
