Khurda: In a shocking incident, a woman was found murdered while her husband and son were seriously injured in Tangi Sahi of Panchukote area of Khurda today. The incident occurred last night when five miscreants entered Prahlad Behera’s house and killed his wife, Rupei Behera. Prahalad and his son were also seriously injured in the attack by the miscreants.
According to sources, Rupei Behera was shifted to the Bolgarh hospital where she succumbed to the injuries. Police have taken custody of the body and have sent it to Khurda for post mortem. Moreover, a scientific team is expected to arrive at the spot and conduct investigation, informed sources.
Family members have alleged that dacoity was the motive behind the attack. However, police is investigating all possibilities as no items are missing from the house, added sources. Given the vione tnature of the attack, police is also not ruling out the possibility of a past enmity.
