Cuttack: With the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations just three days away, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has stepped up measures to curb malpractice in the examination.
“Preparations are underway to form special squads. We will inform the media very soon about the number of squads the Board has formed. We will send the special squads to the centre if it is urgently required,” BSE president Prof Dakshya Prasad Nanda told OTV today.
As per the Odisha Conduct of Examinations Act, 1988, anyone found assisting the examinees in the malpractice, will be punished under the law, he said.
“Apart from this, if any superintendent, deputy superintendent, invigilator or any other staff of the examination centre is found assisting the students in malpractice, the Board will lodge a complaint against them with the police,” he added.
Nanda further said no person, who is not involved in the examination, would e allowed to enter within a 200-metre radius of the examination centre.
Meanwhile, students have started revision of their courses and are hopeful that they would perform very well in the examinations.
“Our teachers have advised us to carefully read out the multiple question papers (MCQ) and tick the right answer to the question. They have also told us to complete the answers as fast as possible to ensure that we revise the answers again in the last 15 minutes. I have practised this a number of times and I am confident that I would secure at least 95 percent marks in the examination,” Rakesh Kumar Das, a student, said.
The examination, which will begin on February 22, will conclude on March 4.
