Bhubaneswar: Following heavy rain causing water logging on railway track and water flowing over danger level of railway bridges coming under the Southern and South Central Railway (SCR) system, the Railway authorities on Tuesday cancelled and diverted some trains.
A total of 14 trains were cancelled and partially cancelled due to breaches in train line at some places, a release by the Railways said.
The cancelled trains, passing through Odisha under East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction, are 18463 Bhubaneswar-Bangalore Prashanti Express, 12898 Bhubaneswar-Pondichery Express, 17488 Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Express from Visakhapatnam, 00839 Howrah-Chennai Suvidha Special from Howrah, 18638 Yesvantpur-Hatia Express from Yesvantpur, 12846 Yesvantpur-Bhubaneswar Express from Yesvantpur, 17480 Tirupati-Puri Express from Tirupati, 12246 Yesvantpur-Howrah Duronto from Yesvantpur and 02836 Ernakulam-Howrah Express from Ernakulam.
Besides, trains that have been partially cancelled are as follows:
17479 Puri-Tirupati Express which left Puri on Monday, has been cancelled between Vijayawada and Tirupati on Tuesday.
22869 Visakhapatnam-Chennai Express which left Visakhapatnam on Monday, has been cancelled between Vijayawada and Chennai on Tuesday.
22872 Tirupati-Bhubaneswar Express which left Tirupati on Monday, has been cancelled between Renigunta and Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
08573 Visakhapatnam-Tirupati Special which left Visakhapatnam on Monday, has been cancelled between Vijayawada and Tirupati on Tuesday, and 22855 Santragachhi-Tirupati Express which left Santragachhi (Howrah) and arrived at Nellore on Monday, has been cancelled between Nellore and
Tirupati on Tuesday.
Apart from this, the Railway authorities have divered 15906 Dibrugarh-Kanyakumari Express, which left Dibrugarh on Saturday (November 14), has been diverted via Nandyal-Dhone-Gooty-Dharmavaram stations, the release added.
