Bhubaneswar: After the Orissa High Court issued notices to at least six government engineering colleges in the state, over the increase in number of seats in certain courses without getting due approval from AICTE, the Employment and Technical Education & Training Department has responded saying that such a step has been taken to accommodate poor students and improve the quality of education.

Departmental sources also revealed that a letter has been sent to AICTE for approval. Moreover, a decision regarding the same will be taken after High Court’s decision on July 7 added sources.
