Malkangiri: As many as 60 families of cut-off Malkangiri who shunned their villages and livelihood in fear of Maoists have landed in deeper trouble. With no shelter, they are spending their days with their relatives in nearby villages. Kuccha walls and polythene roof is what they swapped their homeland for.

Moreover, with al source of livelihood gone after leaving their own villages, the only source of income for these destitute-stricken families is the wood from the jungle. Children fetching woods the jungle are staring at a dark future with no education.
