Bhubaneswar: CPI activists today blocked tracks holding up two trains at the railway station here for about one hour to protest against the Rail Budget which kept provsion of hike in the freight charges.
The CPI activists detained the Bhadrak-Khalikote Passanger and Berhampur-Cuttack DMU trains for about an hour.
Terming Rail Budget, 2015-16 as anti-people, the CPI leaders claimed that hike in the trasnportation charges of cement, kerosene, fertiliser and food grains would escalate inflation.
This apart, the party activists also criticised the Centre for making low allocation for Odisha even as the Railways earned Rs 14,000 crore from the state.
