Sundergarh: A dead leoard with its tail and nails missing was recovered from Machida village forest under Himagiri reserve forest division on Thursday afternoon.
According sources, the leopard has deep injuries all over its body. It is suspected that the poacher might have killed the leopard for its nails and tail.
According to sources, locals spotted the leopard and informed Forest department officials about it this morning.
On being informed about the incident, a team of forest officials led by Belpahad Ranger Dhruba Charan rushed to the spot and started investigation into the matter.
