Bhubaneswar: Lambasting the State BJP, Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak today said the saffron party is politicising the infant deaths at Sishu Bhavan in Cuttack.
“I have been saying from the beginning that BJP and its candidate, who fought last general election from the constituency, are politicising the matter. On health issues, they should not have done this,” Nayak told mediapersons.
Further, he stated the State government is trying to implement the suggestions for improvement of the hospitals, be it MKCG or Sishu Bhavan.
Notably, the State BJP today staged protest across the State highlighting the crumbling healthcare services. Activists and leaders of the saffron party staged dharana in front of all 314 block offices across the State and held protest meetings. In urban areas, the party activists protested outside offices of all chief district medical officers (CDMOs) and ADMO offices.
With three more infant deaths reported today, the toll at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics, also known as Sishu Bhavan, has gone up to 62 in the past 13 days.
