Bhubaneswar: Though heat wave condition eased out across Odisha, the State capital of Bhubaneswar continued to sizzle today at 40.2 degree Celsius, while the number of deaths due to sun stroke climbed to 30 across the State.
Bhubaneswar recorded the highest temperature at 40.2 deg C against yesterday's 39 deg C with the relative humidity level at 88 per cent.
The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall at one or two places over north Odisha during the next 24 hours.
"Moderate to rather heavy rain and thunder showers may occur at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha and light to moderate at a few places over the districts of interior parts of the state," the IMD said in its bulletin.
The state Special Relief Commissioner's (SRC) office confirmed the death of 30 people due to sunstroke across the State.
The revenue department received reports of 146 deaths, of which 50 cases were found to be due to some other reasons and 66 other cases were under investigation by the district collectors.
While the highest number of seven sunstroke casualties were confirmed from Ganjam district, six deaths were reported from Kendrapara, four in Bargarh and two each in Cuttack, Puri and Rayagada districts.
Apart from this, one sunstroke death each was confirmed by the Collectors of Angul, Balasore, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Nuapada districts, the SRC officials said. anal yapan escort
