Balasore: Rajashree Mohanty, son of former BJD minister Raghunath Mohanty, has sought legal divorce from his estranged wife Barsa Swony Choudhury.
“No conjugal relationship exists between them and it makes an apt ground for seeking divorce,” said Rajshree’s cousel Harekrushna Das said after filing the divorce papers in a family court here yesterday.
“With this (filing divorce papers), people will know the truth,” Choudhury said in her reaction, adding that her fight for justice will continue.
Choudhury had alleged dowry torture by her husband and her in-laws, which created a State-wide uproar and forced the senior Mohanty to quit his ministerial assignment. Moreover, police had arrested Rajashree, his father and mother following her complaint. They were, however, out on bail subsequently.
