Berhampur/Bhubaneswar: The career of Sardar Rajas medicos is still stuck at the crossroads as students of two government and one private medical colleges in the State have unanimously opposed the Orissa High Court’s decision to re-allot the students of Kalahandi-based medical college in their institutions.
After protests at VSS Medical College in Burla two days back, students of Maharaja Krushna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur took to streets today opposing the HC order.
Demanding proper counselling, the agitating students staged a sit-in in front of the college badly affecting medical services in the hospital which caters to remotest districts in the State.
The placard-holding students also brought to notice of the State government that the existing infrastructure of their institute will unable to accommodate the ‘extra’ students.
“All the departments in our college are ill-equipped to accommodate the additional students and the State government is completely aware about it. In such a situation how will we study here,” asked a student.
“It must first upgrade all the facilities and then think of admitting students here,” said another student.
Meanwhile, students of Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital in Bhubaneswar today took out a rally from Master Canteen to Lower PMG demanding the government to withdraw its decision.
“Unless our demands are met, we will not allow the students of Sardar Rajas to sit with us,” stated a student of Hi-tech Medical College.
Two days back the students of VSS Medical College have vented their ire by staging a protest in front of the college.
