Jajpur: Three lives were lost in a ghastly road accident near the Jarka-Bramhani river bridge last night.
According to sources, the tragic incident took place when a Tata Ace was completely gutted after it had a head-on collision with a police van coming from the opposite direction.
The mini truck was on its way to Bhadrak with three persons, including the driver, aboard. The speeding police van hit the mini truck from the front and the driver died on the spot, eyewitness said.
The other two victims were rushed to Dharmasala hospital where one lost his life there while the other died on his way when he was being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The deceased have not yet been identified even as the police investigation is on.
