Bhubaneswar: Sanket Ray from Odisha has been appointed as the president of India and Southwest Asia of beverage major Coca-Cola.

Ray, a native of Bhubaneswar is an alumni of BJB College and XIMB, is currently chief operating officer for Coca-Cola Mainland China. He also has a mechanical engineering degree from Bhopal NIT.

The Odia boy will be holding the highest position in Coca Cola’s INSWA operation. Ray a student of DM School and has completed his Plus II from BJB College here. His father Dr SK Ray is a Veterinarian.

Ray will take over from T Krishnakumar, the current president of the India and Southwest Asia business unit, the company said in a statement. While Krishnakumar has been named chairman of the company.

In a career spanning over 25 years, Ray has been associated with companies like Bajaj Auto, ACC Limited, Saint Gobain, and Lafarge in the past.
