Bhubaneswar: After registering a record single-day spike of 1,594 new Covid-19 cases, Odisha on Friday witnessed significant recoveries with 808 patients recuperating from the disease.

With this, the total recoveries in the State reached 15200. The active cases in the State now stand at 7,339.

The maximum number of 530 patients recovered from Ganjam followed by 61 from Rayagada, 35 from Cuttack, 30 from Malkangiri, 22 from Gajapati, 19 from Balasore, 19 from Khurda, 18 from Baragarh, 18 from Bhadrak, 8 from Boudh, 7 each from Jharsuguda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara & Keonjhar, 5 from Sambalpur, 4 from Nabarangpur, 3 from Sundergarh, 2 each from Angul, Jajpur & Puri, 1 each from Koraput & Nayagarh.


Odisha today registered 1,594 new cases of coronavirus, taking the total cases in the State to 22,693. The State also reported deaths of six persons on account of COVID19 infection.

In India, 34,602 more COVID19 patients were discharged after getting cured of the disease. With this, the cumulative COVID recoveries crossed 8 lakh resulting in a national recovery rate of 63.45%.
