Bhubaneswar: At a time when novel-Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has turned out to be a major challenge for the central and State governments, patient-1 infected with the virus in Odisha has reportedly tested negative at Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar. He is being discharged from the hospital.
The State Health Department has informed that the patient has recovered and is completely healthy now. Currently, of the five reported COVID-19 cases so far in Odisha, the number of active cases stands at three.
"The first COVID-19 positive case, belonging to Bhubaneswar who is being treated at Capital hospital has recovered and tested negative for COVID-19. He is being discharged. Active COVID-19 cases in Odisha now stand at 3. Congratulations to the medical team at Capital Hospital," tweeted Department of Health & Family Welfare.

Earlier Thursday, the second COVID-19 patient in the State was discharged from AIIMS Bhubaneswar after he recovered completely and was tested negative for coronavirus.
Odisha reported the first coronavirus case on March 15. The 33-year-old student affected by COVID-19 returned from Italy and was admitted to Capital Hospital for treatment after developing symptoms. According to officials at the hospital, the student after returning from Italy was put into quarantine in Delhi. However, later he reportedly took a train from Delhi to Bhubaneswar.

The State reported its fifth COVID-19 case on Wednesday when a 60-year-old man Pradipta Kumar Dalabehera of Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar was tested positive. He is currently admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar with multiple co-morbid conditions.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation(BMC) made the name and address of the fifth COVID-19 patient public in the larger interest of people to stop the community transmission of coronavirus.
