Cuttack: In a major development, the district administration in Cuttack has decided to close down all Covid care centres following a decline in the number of coronavirus cases in the district.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held at the Collector’s office on Thursday which was attended by Saurabh Garg, district COVID coordinator for Cuttack and the Twincity Police Commissioner, Sudhansu Sarangi, among others.

Garg said, “Special arrangements will be made at the SCB Medical College and Hospital for checking health condition of recovered COVID19 patients.”

Garg thanked the residents of Cuttack for abiding by the COVID guidelines issued during Dussehra which, he said, was instrumental in curtailing the spread of the deadly virus in the district, especially in the CMC area.

“We have discussed about the post-cure guidelines for recovered patients and the mechanism to aware people about the same,” said Garg.

He further hoped that residents will continue to cooperate with the district administration during the upcoming Dhanteras and Kalipuja as well.

Speaking about the private COVID hospitals, Garg said, “The decision to reduce COVID beds in the private hospitals will be taken in due course of time.”

Collector, Bhabani Shankar Chayani said, “We are scaling up Covid tests for both infected and recovered patients at the SCB Hospital.”
