Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha are now in the grip of cold wave conditions with mercury dropping below 12 degree Celsius in two places in the past 24 hours.

As per the latest data shared by India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, Phulbani recorded lowest minimum temperature of 9.5 degree Celsius.

Apart from Phulbani, Daringbadi recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 11 degree Celsius, Angul (11.6), Koraput (12.2), Bhawanipatna (12.6), Keonjhar (13.2) and Bolangir recorded minimum temperature of 14.5 degree Celsius.

The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum night temperature of 16.5 and 17.8 degree Celsius, respectively.

The cold wave conditions have crippled the normal life particularly in the early hours of the day. Similarly, dense fog cover also compounded the miseries for people in different parts of the State on Friday.

The visibility in Chandbali was less than 50 mts while vehicular movement was also adversely hit due to a thick blanket of dense fog in Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
