Bhubaneswar: Even as COVID-19 cases are increasing day by day, Odisha is also registering a sharp increase in the number of recoveries. As many as 643 positive patients recuperated from COVID-19, taking the total recoveries in the State to 14,392 on Thursday.

It is the highest single-day recoveries registered by Odisha so far.

As per the Health and Family Welfare Department, a highest of 407 COVID-19 positive patients recovered from Ganjam district followed by 44 in Khurda, 31 from Balasore, 28 from Mayurbhanj and 27 from Cuttack district.

Earlier today, a record 1,264 COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours in Odisha. The total number of coronavirus cases in the State rose to 21,099 today.

As per Information and Public Relations (I &PR) department, 847 were reported from quarantine centres while 417 were local contact cases.

Ganjam reported maximum of 540 cases, followed by Khurda (137 cases), Rayagada (84), Gajapati (74), Nayagarh (61), Sundergarh (60) and Cuttack with 47 cases.
