Bhubaneswar: The total COVID-19 recovery tally in Odisha crossed 23,000 mark after a record 1119 positive patients recovered in the last 24 hours. It is for the first time that Odisha has recorded over 1000 recoveries in a single day since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

A highest of 354 patients recuperated from coronavirus infection from Ganjam district followed by Khurda (97), Gajapati (83) and Jajpur (70) today, informed Health and Family Welfare Department.

As many as 57 COVID-19 patients also recovered from Keonjhar, Cuttack (50), Boudh (40), Nayagarh (37), Rayagada (35), Puri (31), Balasore (30), Mayurbhanj (29), Bhadrak (28), Jagatsinghpur (27), Dhenkanal (24), Sundergarh (22), Kandhamal (17), Bolangir (16) and Sambalpur (16).

Apart from this, 15 patients recuperated from COVID-19 from Malkangiri, 12 from Nabarangpur, 11 from Kendrapara, 5 each from Angul & Koraput, 4 from Baragarh, 3 from Sonepur and 1 from Jharsuguda.

Earlier, a highest of 878 COVID-19 positive patients had recuperated on July 28, 864 on July 26, 808 on July 24 and 807 on July 30.
