Bhubaneswar: The coronavirus disease has claimed 10 more lives in Odisha while as many as 1384 persons were detected positive in the last 24 hours, informed the State I&PR Department on Monday.

With this, the Covid-19 death toll in the State jumped to 207 and the total number of positive cases rose to 36297, of which 14095 are active cases and 21954 have recovered so far.

Of the new cases reported from 26 districts of the State, 873 were detected from quarantine centres while 511 are local contact cases.

The maximum 331 cases were reported from Ganjam district followed by Khurda (211), Koraput (97), Sambalpur (93) and Balasore (79), added I & PR department.

List of new cases from the other districts are mentioned below:

As of now, Ganjam has reported 11,323 coronavirus cases which include 3686 active cases, 7524 recoveries, and 106 deaths.

The health and family welfare department shared the details of 10 Covid positive patients who succumbed while under treatment in hospitals.

  • A 48-year-old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Diabetes.
  • A 66-year-old male of Kalahandi district who was also suffering from Diabetes & Hypertension.
  • A 34-year-old male of Gajapati district.
  • A 70-year-old male of Raygada district who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
  • A 54-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  • A 64-year-old male of Rayagada district who was also suffering from Diabetes & Hypertension, Hypothyroidism & morbid obesity.
  • A 61-year-old male of Rayagada district.
  • A 54-year-old female of Ganjam district.
  • A 48-year-old male of Gajapati district who was also suffering from Hepatitis-B & Diabetes.
  • A 63-year-old male of Khordha district who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes & Coronary Artery Disease.

Similarly, the department also shared the details of two Covid-19 positive patients who died due to other causes:

  • A 48-year-old female of Ganjam district who expired due to Cerebro Vascular accident.
  • An 85-year-old male of Malkangiri district who expired due to End-Stage Chronic Kidney Disease with uremic Encephalopathy.

A total of 13,272 samples were tested in the last 24 hours in Odisha taking the cumulative number of tests to 556588.
