Bhubaneswar: With detection of 138 new Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of coronavirus cases in Odisha rose to 2994 on Monday.
The State's tally is now inching closer to 3000-mark. The active cases in the State now stand at 1129 with 1716 recoveries and nine deaths, as per the details shared by the State Information and Public Relations Department.
Of the 138 cases reported from 18 districts today, 125 were in quarantine while 13 of them are local contacts.
Ganjam reported highest 33 Covid-19 cases followed by Cuttack (15), Khurda (13), Sundargarh (12), Bhadrak (11) and 10 each cases from Keonjhar and Kandhamal district.
Similarly, seven coronavirus cases were reported from Puri, six each from Jajpur and Mayurbhanj, three from Nayagarh, Dhenkanal and Nuapada districts, two from Kalahandi and one each case was reported from Rayagada, Sambalpur, Bolangir and Kendrapara districts.

A total of 3317 RT-PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in Odisha taking the cumulative tests to 179415.

Earlier on Sunday, Odisha reported highest single-day COVID-19 recoveries with as many as 178 patients getting cured from the disease.
