Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Sunday reported its highest single-day COVID-19 recovery so far. As many as 178 patients recovered and discharged today, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department.

According to the Health department, highest 39 patients have recovered from Khurda, 23 from Gajapati, 22 from Nuapada, 17 from Bhadrak, 15 from Nayagarh, 14 from Ganjam and 10 from Kendrapara districts.

Similarly, Dhenkanal reported 9 recoveries while Kandhamal 9, Sundergarh 6, Balasore 4, Cuttack, Bolangir and Malkangiri 2 each, Jagatsingpur, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur and Puri 1 each.

Of the total 2856 cumulative positive cases so far, the total number of recoveries now stands at 1894, while the State has currently 951 active cases.

Earlier today, 75 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Odisha, taking the State’s tally to 2856. The State also reported one more death due to the virus, taking the toll to 9.

Khurda and Sundergarh reported highest 18 cases each while a 55-year-old male patient of Ganjam, who had tested positive for Covid-19, passed away while undergoing treatment. He was reportedly suffering from Tuberculosis and other co-morbidities.
