Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 cases continue to surge in Odisha as 11 more deaths and 3777 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

With this, the Covid-19 death toll in the State rose to 616, while the cumulative positive caseload jumped to 1,46,894, including 34,163 active cases and 1,12,062 recoveries on Saturday, informed the State Health and Family Welfare Department.

While Cuttack reported three deaths, Khordha registered two followed by one each fatality in Bolangir, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Nayagarh and Rayagada.

Of the 3777 fresh cases reported from across 30 districts, 2191 were detected from various quarantine centres while 1586 were local contact cases.

According to the data shared by I & PR department, Khordha reported the highest 815 novel coronavirus cases followed by Cuttack (368), Puri (237), Sundargarh (148) and Kendrapara (148).

The Health and Family Welfare Department shared the details of 11 Covid-19 positive patients who succumbed while undergoing treatment.

  • A 66-year-old female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Hypertension, Hypothyroidism & Bronchial asthma
  • An 88-year-old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes & hypertension
  • A 45-year-old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes & Hypertension
  • A 30-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension
  • An 82-year-old male of Bhubaneswar
  • A 70-year-old male of Bolangir district who was also suffering from Diabetes
  • A 48-year-old male of Jajpur district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease
  • A 64-year-old female of Kandhamal district who was also suffering from Hypertension
  • A 75-year-old male of Keonjhar district who was also suffering from Pancytopenia
  • A 56-year-old male of Nayagarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes
  • A 63-year-old male of Rayagada district who was also suffering from Diabetes
