Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Friday witnessed record recoveries with 878 COVID-19 patients recuperating from the disease. With this, the total recoveries in the State now stand at 18,938.

Highest 396 recoveries were from Ganjam district followed by 114 from Khurda, 49 from Gajapati, 44 from Jagatsinghpur, 35 from Koraput, 33 from Balasore, 29 from Kandhamal and 26 from Angul district.

Similarly, 23 patients from Keonjhar, 16 from Nayagarh, 14 each from Cuttack & Sundergarh, 13 from Bhadrak, 11 from Malkangiri, 10 from Jajpur, 8 from Kendrapara, 7 each from Baragarh, Boudh & Dhenkanal, 5 from Jharsuguda, 4 each from Bolangir & Puri, 3 each from Nuapada & Rayagada, 2 from Mayurbhanj and 1 from  Sambalpur recuperated from the disease and are being discharged.

Earlier today, Odisha reported 1,068 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the total case tally in the State to 29,175.

The State also recorded five more Covid-19 related deaths. The total number of fatalities in Odisha now stands at 159. The deaths were reported from Balasore, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Malkangiri districts.
