Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Thursday reported highest single day spike of 394 new Covid-19 cases after a gap of several months.

As per the data shared by I &PR department, a maximum of 70 cases were reported from Khordha district, followed by Kalahandi (43), Nuapada (40), Bargarh (34), Sundergarh (31) and Cuttack (27).

It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha is now witnessing a steep rise in the number of daily infections for the past couple of weeks.

Earlier, the State had reported highest of 297 new cases on Wednesday after witnessing 200-plus cases for almost six consecutive days last month.

The daily count of Covid-19 cases were below the 180-mark on March 23.
