Keonjhar: A two-year-old girl sustained critical injuries after she was attacked by a pack of stray dogs at a mango orchard at Tungurbahal village in Keonjhar district on Thursday.

As per reports, the girl identified as Sashmita had visited the mango orchard to pick up the fruits which had fallen down following heavy rains and thunderstorm in the region this morning.

However, Sashmita was brutally attacked by nearly seven to eight stray dogs near the orchard.
The girl was rescued by a group of villagers who rushed to her help after finding her in trouble.

Following the incident, Sashmita has been admitted to a hospital and her condition is said to be critical.

It may be recalled that as many as 30 persons were injured after being bitten reportedly by two stray dogs in steel city Rourkela in November 2019.
