Bhubaneswar: Appreciating the dedication and commitment of 95 police personnel who have resumed duty immediately after recovering from the novel coronavirus disease, Odisha Police DG today decided to issue a 'Special Appreciation' to them as a mark of respect.

In a letter to all the heads of police establishment, DGP Abhay mentioned that many police personnel have been infected with COVID-19 in the State among which some have recovered and re-joined enforcement duty. One of them succumbed to the virus and we pay our tribute for his ultimate sacrifice, the DGP stated.

“To encourage those who have re-joined enforcement duty promptly, it is decided to issue ‘Special Appreciation for recovered corona warriors’ from the DGP”, the letter read.

The DGP further asked the heads of police establishment to send the names and other details of the cops who have re-joined duty soon after getting cured of the infection for the issue of the Special Appreciation. The names of those cops will also be entered in their concerned Service Books.

The special appreciation will be sent to the heads of police establishment where it will be presented to the recovered police Covid warriors by an officer of SP/Commandant-rank, added the letter.

CM Naveen Patnaik too admired the dedication and sacrifice of the Covid warriors during this fight against the invisible enemy.
