Bhubaneswar: The Covid-19 cases continued to show a declining trend in Odisha with the State witnessing 1793 new cases in the last 24 hours. Similarly, 18 persons succumbed to the disease. While total coronavirus caseload reached 277887 in the State, the death toll mounted to 1214.
Of the new positive cases, 1031 patients are from quarantine while 762 are local contact cases. Four districts recorded over 100 cases with Khordha witnessing the maximum 208 Covid-19 cases followed by Cuttack (160), Angul 107 and Mayurbhanj (104).

The Health department said three deaths were reported from Angul, Khordha and Gajapati, two deaths each were reported in Jajpur and Mayurbhanj districts while one death each from Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Puri.

The health department website revealed that 40733 samples were tested on Saturday for Covid-19 taking the number of samples tested cumulatively across the State to 4240241.
