Bhubaneswar: Further improving the recovery rate, 4066 Covid patients have recuperated from the disease in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovered cases of the State now climbed to 198194. The fresh recoveries have brought down the active cases to 30,248, according to the State Health Department.

The maximum number of 648 recoveries was reported from Khordha followed by 521 from Cuttack, 225 from Angul, 181 from Jajapur, 167 from Sundargarh, 152 from Jagatsinghpur, 152 from Nuapada, 141 from Bargarh, 135 from Nabarangpur and 128 from Sambalpur.

Similarly, 127 patients recovered from Bhadrak, 119 from Balasore, 114 from Mayurbhanj, 108 from Kandhamal, 106 from Kendrapara, 105 from Puri, 91 from Jharsuguda, 81 from Bolangir, 65 from Keonjhar, 65 from Malkangiri, 61 from Rayagada, 61 from Sonepur, 60 from Ganjam, 60 from Kalahandi, 60 from Koraput, 59 from Boudh, 57 from Dhenkanal, 41 from Nayagarh, 14 from Deogarh, 13 from Gajapati, 149 from State Pool.

Earlier in the day, Odisha reported 3053 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total virus tally in the State to 229387. This apart, 17 persons succumbed to the disease in a span of 24 hours. While three deaths each were reported from Balasore and Dhenkanal district, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri reported two deaths each and one each succumbed in Bhadrak, Ganjam, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh districts.
