Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha has announced the results of Plus II arts stream for 2019-20. State School And Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash announced the results today officially at the CHSE office in Bhubaneswar.

Students can check their results by visiting www.chseodisha.nic.in and www.orissaresults.nic.in.

A total of 67.56% of students passed the exams.  Around 2, 19, 716 students had appeared the Plus II arts examination this year (2019-20) of which 1, 48, 452 students have passed. In the current academic session, girls have once again outshined boys. 57.53% of boys have passed the exams while the pass percentage of girls stands at 75.48.

22, 196 students have passed in the first division while 26, 027 students have passed in the second division and 1, 00, 101 have passed in the third division.

Bargarh district registered the highest pass percentage with 76.63% while Nabarangpur district recorded the lowest pass percentage of 44.67%.

Around 10 colleges registered 100% results and no colleges have recorded nil results.

The evaluation of answer copies got delayed due to the nationwide lockdown amid COVID-19 outbreak following which the Odisha government introduced a new process of evaluation.

As per the new scheme, if a student has appeared for exams in 5 subjects, his average marks will be decided based on his top 3 scores, and if a student has managed to appear in 4 papers, his average will be calculated as per the top 2 scores.

The Plus II Science results were declared on August 12, while the Plus II Commerce results were announced on August 19. The result declaration of Arts stream which was earlier scheduled for last week of August was postponed to September after two officials of the council tested positive for coronavirus.

The pass percentage for Plus II Science examination stood at 70.21 per cent while the pass percentage for Commerce stream recorded at 74.95 percent.
